HMD Global has launched 4 new Nokia devices. Two smartphones, the Nokia 5.3 and the Nokia C3 and two feature phones, Nokia 125 and the Nokia 150. The feature phones go on sale starting today while the smartphones will be available to purchase in September. The C3 and 5.3 are the all-new phones in Nokia’s budget line up. The phones come with a one-year replacement guarantee. Both the smartphones are fairly low-specced but are going to offer stock Android experience as well as Nokia’s promise of quick OS updates in the future.
The C3 targets the budget segment of the mobile market. The Nokia C3 comes with Android 10, a 5.99-inch HD+ display and an octa-core processor. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The C3 has a removable 3,040mAh battery. It also comes with a Google Assistant button, 3.5mm headphone jack and dual SIM support with 4G LTE.
The overall design has a lot of bezels and a chin that’s quite thick with a waterdrop notch but the screen to body ratio is still quite impressive in terms of the phone’s price point. The phone offers a lot and it truly can be called a smartphone for the masses. It comes in blue and sand colour options.
Nokia C3 starts at ₹7,499 for the base model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. It also comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which retails at ₹8,999. The smartphone can be pre-booked from September 10, and it will be available starting September 17.
The Nokia 5.3 will go on sale slightly earlier as compared to the C3. Nokia 5.3 has a dedicated Google Assistant button, and it features a 6.55-inch HD+ curved glass display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset coupled with Adreno 610 GPU with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Nokia 5.3 has a 4,000mAh battery with a 10W charging support and runs Android 10. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone also has Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary camera, 5MP wide-angle camera, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. There is an 8MP selfie camera in the waterdrop notch. The phone measures 159.6x77x8.69mm and weigh 184.5 grams. The Nokia 5.3 is priced at ₹13,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant, and ₹15,499 for the 6GB+64GB variant and will go on sale from September 1.
Both phones offer a lot more for their respective price points and come at very affordable prices. Nokia is also known for building sturdy products though they are still lacking a bit in design. But the C3 and 5.3 look very promising and will be a great addition to India’s new budget smartphone lineup.
